About LurePassion
LurePassion turns public fishing data into a straight answer: it fuses live water conditions (USGS & NWS), state stocking reports, solunar timing, and tournament-winning patterns into a per-lake, per-species read on what to throw right now — free, on the open web.
We don't burn spots
Everything here is aggregated at the waterbody level— a lake, a reservoir, a named stretch of river. We never publish the precise coordinates of a honey hole, a launch, or anyone's go-to bank. Spot-burning is the fastest way to ruin water and the community around it, and we won't do it. Data that helps you read a whole lake, not a pin that ruins it.
Every number is sourced
There is no hand-waving on the site. Water readings cite the USGS gauge; stocking cites the state agency; each lure rule carries a citation to a published guide or manufacturer chart; solunar is computed, not scraped from a paywall. When the exact conditions have no rule, the engine widens its bands and says so. See the methodology for the full accounting.
Open by default
The underlying stocking and waterbody data is free to download (CC BY 4.0), the API is public, and there's an llms.txt for AI assistants. We'd rather the data be useful everywhere than locked behind a login.
How it stays free
Some lure and gear mentions are affiliate links: if you buy through them, LurePassion may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That's the only monetization, and it never changes a recommendation — products are matched to the archetype the cited engine already picked, not the other way around.
